Alix Joslyn

first stepped on her yoga mat at the gentle nudging of her modern dance teacher when she was sixteen years old. "I remember that first class like it was yesterday: the way the studio felt, the sound of my teacher’s voice, what the poses asked of my body, how I melted into that final rest, so happy to be there among the teachings and the community of practitioners. How lucky for me to have found this path in the throes of the topsy-turvy anxiety-filled time that was my teens and early twenties."

As a 500-hour registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (500-RYT), Alix has had the privilege of teaching studio classes and seasonal workshops since 2014. Her beloved teacher, Johanna Bell, of Illumina Yoga, founded the Full Spectrum Sequencing Approach to Vinyasa Yoga. Under her guidance, Alix learned how to incorporate the cakra system into sequencing creative classes which include poetry, homily, moving metaphor, and music.

In 2025, Alix will graduate from the Yoga Well Institute’s Berkeley, California cohort as a Certified Individual Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) in the lineage of Viniyoga. The program, led by Chase Bossart C-IAYT, passes down the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya through his son Mr. TKV Desikachar.

Alix offers Yoga as a practice of ritual and self-discovery. Whether navigating change, seeking relief from pain, or simply making space to breathe, her approach is therapeutic, adaptable, and approachable. "I look forward to working together."
